Bring on, the Battle of the Balms!
So, I am going to be reviewing these balms in order of least favourite to favourite!
1. Unfortunately, my least favourite has to be the Nivea Pearly Shines, I have the old formulation and the new and despite these being a childhood favourite I no longer reach for these in my collection of balms. It leaves a lovely shine however unlike any other balm it can be slightly drying.
2. I was very, I mean, very disappointed, with the Vaseline Paint the Town balm. Although this was extremely moisturising just like any other Vaseline product there was NO colour pay of at all! This is advertised as a red lip stain, this didn't change the colour of my lips at all it barely even left a glossy finish! Very, very upset by this.
3. Next would have to be the Nivea essential care balm stick, although this is a classic, and extremely moisturising, it's nothing special. However it's intense moisture and thick consistency is perfect for a quick fix in the winter.
4. My next balm is the Vaseline Cocoa Butter Lip Therapy, I love, love, love the smell of this product but the only downside is the formulation. I am not a fan of its slightly gloopy consistency.
5. The Nivea Lip Butter original is next up as I love the feel of this on the lips, it doesn't have any particularly unique features but it is definitely one of my favourite basic balms.
6. Just above that is the Nivea Lip Butter in Raspberry Rose, this just topped the original butter due to its scent! The smell of this is unbelievable and makes it a pleasure to apply! It's also a very thorough moisturiser which never fails to make my lips creamy!
7. Lastly, my favourites...
These are my most recent purchases in the balm category however they are definitely my favourite! The Baby Lips Dr. Resucue, in Pink Me Up, Coral Crave and Too Cool. These are Menthol balms therefore they smell incredible! The Pink and Coral shade seem slightly less Menthol than Too Cool however they leave a slight pink sheen to the lips compared to the clear Cool one. These are my ultimate balm for the winter and I highly recommend these to EVERYONE!
