So recently on social media, such as YouTube and Twitter, people have been voicing their opinion on sexual, domestic and other kinds of abuse that unfortunately happens on a daily basis. Due to some recent events involving some popular vloggers supposedly supporting or showing sexual abuse on their channels or in any other way, I want to voice my opinion.
I am not going to victimize any specific people as it's not worth my time and this post is based on everyone!
First off, I think abuse is so wrong and I have absolutely no idea why anyone would inflict pain upon anyone at all. It doesn't matter whether the abuse is unnoticeable or extremely severe, it should not be done.
I myself have never experienced abuse from family or strangers, but in the school environment I found myself feeling less safe when an event with a so called "friend" occurred, I was pushed to the floor and kicked several times with bruises to show, this made me feel fairly uncomfortable with my school although it was not their fault at all. I opened up to some teachers about how I felt and they supported me and gave me great advice. Such as 'Don't be afraid to speak up.' Your voices need to be heard.
On average nearly half a million domestic abuse victims are too scared to speak up about their incidents to anyone. This should NOT be the case.
I am certainly no expert at giving advice on large scale, re-occurring abuse, but for more help and to talk to someone anonymously you can check these links:)
